One of Gandhi's believers set himself on fire yesterday in India and died. What a waste! No one else died for the cause and only a few will even remember his name tomorrow. Pouring gasoline over yourself, wrapping a country's flag around you and starting a fire is a time tested method used by those who wish to commit suicide. No one is likely to remember you and only a few will care one way or the other.
That's not true when it's a suicide bomber. They don't jut kill themselves, they kill others, many of which are woman and children who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you're the bomber, it' called collateral damage, if you lived through it, it's impossible to understand why.
Strapping on a bomb and detonating it in a populous place is the newest method of indiscriminate killing. Stopping the suicide bomber is next to impossible, but it can be done. Shoot first and apologize if your wrong is just one method, but it can be effective.
I'll never understand the mentality and I don't care to try. Killing them with the least collateral damage possible is just one of many answers.
