Gitmo

There is very little that George W. Bush did that strikes a positive response, but being detained as a prisoner of war at Gitmo is one of the few. While the jury is still out on closing the base, I agree that the prisoners should not have been brought directly into the United States. We have had prisoner of war camps before and we most likely will have them again. What I do not agree with is torture of any kind. We are a country where the rule of law prevails and we must keep it that way.

This is not the first time we have wrongly detained prisoners nor regrettably will it be the last. We do now and have always been known as a country that errors on the side of self preservation. The camps we set up in the United States for the Japanese are but one example.
